Ya know, for a short day, it was rather long. I spent the morning calling schools, updating emergency contacts and telling the school to keep on my boys grades and attendance regardless of the situation.
In the midst of it all, I found out my sister-in-law, Elaine Gerdin, Chris' wife, (Howard's brother) passed away yesterday. She was only 55 years old. There were medical issues, so for some closer to home, it didn't come as big of a shock, but I for one, was stunned. There are two young ladies, a recent HS graduate & a 7th grader without their mother & a mourning husband without his wife. She will be missed by so many who loved her dearly.
As for my day, I went for my 10-15 minute brain radiation treatment, and then went across the hall for a leg CT scan, over 400 pictures, of my thigh, hip, knee etc. So they can fit me for a leg brace, to keep me still, for bone radiation. At least now I know why I have leg pain can't sleep, although I'm not thrilled with the diagnosis; at least it's not in my head...well I guess it is too, since it's in my brain...sorry have to add some humor to it all.
By this time, I'm achy all over and realized I had not had any pain meds since morning and it's now after 2:30 pm; I grab a lunch & dinner at the dining hall and take them back to my room. To find out my original check out date was today, and my keys didn't work...so down the elevator I go to re-key my key. I quickly ate my lunch, with my Advil, and then spent the rest of the afternoon reading on the heating pad. Really looking forward to this leg pain going away, they say the radiation and these steroids will help. I'm hoping.
Day off tomorrow, guess it's laundry and budget day. I brought all the bills and a whole slew of receipts to put into quicken. That will keep me busy.
Many Blessings to you all. Until next time......
FYI the steroids may keep you up at night!
ReplyDeletePsalm 107:19-21 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave. Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men.
