December 6, 2011

Hello Prayer Warriors! I slept again so-so with the Ambien CR, but the pain made it through before the night was over. Although I wasn't sleeping deeply, I did get quiet rest until almost 7:30 a.m.

Despite the short night's sleep, today was an easy day. I wasn't scheduled to go to the facility until 4:00 p.m. for radiation on both the brain & bones. But the Lord was good! I got a squeezed in apt with Dr. Pain Management before noon and after the consult he determined that all the previous RX's I've received were just not enough, and I needed to stay on something stronger, on a consistent schedule without waiting for the pain to return. He gave me a RX for...roll the drums....morphine. Most of you know I'd prefer alternative and natural remedies, but this sleep deprivation and bone pain had just worn me down. I've been told that now that the leg/bone radiation has begun, the pain level should start to decrease rather quickly.

The bone radiation is 10 sessions as well so that will be complete on 12/19.

Tomorrow afternoon I have my Team Treatment planning meeting. They will draw labs and I 'think' we'll draw up a Christmas and Chemo schedule. So stay tuned tomorrow for updates.

Blessings to all & thanks for your prayers!
Happy Birthday to my beautiful sister, Dawn Marie Spetrini & my Aunt Inger (whose number of candles I'm not to mention.)

Thank you for not mentioning just how many candles. :) Glad to know you are getting some stronger meds although they may not be your first choice. Will be awaiting tomorrow's update. Message me anytime if you need something.

  2. Morphine is WONDERFUL. That's what the gave me when I was in the hospital in April. It was the only thing that touched the pain I was in.

I hope you sleep well tonight.

    Love you.
